These Boots Were Made For Walking

In another Star Wars themed post, here is my latest addition to the growing 15mm Star Wars Miniatures Battles project. This is a 15mm (or thereabouts) scale All Terrain-Scout Transport. It's a small plastic toy that came in the 'Attack on Endor' Star Wars Command toy set.

I bought a box set off EBay for a reasonable price and mounted the AT-ST on a small base, instead of the large vehicle base that it comes with. The rest of the set is not much use to me, unfortunately.

It painted easily and quick, just Neutral Grey, inwashed in Black Ink, then drybrushed in a lighter grey (I forget which one I used...) and that was that! The Empire are nothing if not simple...

It's quite nicely detailed, however, there is a large line down the centre of the cockpit where the two sides join. I could have got rid of this by splitting the model into its component bits and regluing it together. However, I wanted this model finished quick, so I didn't bother faffing about. It's something I would do with a future piece though. Here it is with a 15mm Stormtrooper for scale. As you can see, it's not exactly 15mm in scale, but it will do!

And scout walkers need something to shoot at, so here is a squad of Rebel troopers. I rebased the figures I already had, especially for SWMB and this is the first squad of ten:

These guys came from Ground Zero Games as part of their CDF range and they look a lot like the Rebel starship crew from Episode IV. This is Red Squad, as indicated by the shoulder flash and has a repeating blaster and grenade launcher specialists included in the squad. I'm currently working on more rebels so I'll post pictures of those in a future post!
